finished my wip

I know you have seen this before, but I wanted to show you how these little squares got all sewn up together.  Finished finally!

Sometimes these little things can just sit around waiting to be finished.  It’s just a little sewing and quilting.

But once I laid out the fabrics and my girl saw the tiny quilt she decided it would be perfect for her doll.  So I had to get it done right away!

She picked out the backing fabric with the cute cats.  And I did the rest of the sewing.  Now Jules Sparkles will rest nice and toasty, cozy at night.  Thanks to her Aunt Mary.

making progress

I am getting a few little quilts finished.  Picking out the last bits of fabrics, sewing and hand stitching on the binding.

This one is the from the Wonky Log Cabin Quilt class that I taught.  Red is used traditionally for the center square, but I wanted to use this untraditional olive green.  Then I used some reproduction fabric in yellow for the sashing and back of the quilt.

The binding is some yardage that I have had awhile that I love.  I am into the yellow, orange, and blues together, aren’t they just so happy!

And here are some blocks that my sister Mary sent me home with during my visit with her this past summer.  All reproduction prints.  Don’t you love the soft yellow centers!  It’s like a little pat of butter :)  This one is going to be a little quilt for my girl and her favorite dolls.  It will be just the perfect size.  And made with love from her Aunt Mary and Momma!

twin cities

Quilt Market in the great twin cities has been on my mind this weekend.   And for the past hour, I have been cruising again.  Cruising Flickr.  Looking at all of the wonderful pic’s from Quilt Market.

Right now, that is where my sister Mary is.  Buying fabric for her shop in Grand Forks.  I am so jealous.  But this is what I can do instead.

Look at everyone else’s photo’s plus my own from Fall QM in Houston.  It is more eye candy and a ton of inspiration that I love!

I just want to go on line and shop for fabric right now.  Buy up some of the fun stuff that I can’t get locally.

If you do look through my Flickr, look through my favorites.  There is some fun stuff in there too!  I have been looking especially at using up my scraps again!  Making a little log cabin quilt.  Stay tuned for that.

p.s. please remember to leave a comment to be entered into my book giveaway!  It ends Monday.

I am a little brain dead these days.  I need some R&R.

So last night I stayed off my computer.  But today I was on, looking through my list of blog friends.

It is just what I needed. A little brain juice.

And a long phone call from my sister never hurts either!

So here are some pic’s that got my brain working again!  I hope they inspire you a little too.
